Steel is the world’s most important engineering and construction material. It is used in every aspect of our lives. Unfortunately the steel making process leads to certain airborne dust emissions.
Raw materials used for cokes and sinter production such as iron ore, metallurgical coal and limestone can cause dust issues when loading and unloading ships, feeding hoppers and during transport with conveyor belts.
Outside storage of these raw materials is vulnerable to mass loss caused by strong winds and can potentially cause dust issues for the sites surroundings.
