The recycling of wood and wood waste, household waste or bottom ash is a process that literally generates a great deal of dust. This causes irritation to the eyes, nose and throat of recycling company staff, as well as allergies and illnesses such as asthma or other lung conditions. Dust can be carried by the wind for kilometres, whether visible or invisible, and thus also pollute the immediate surroundings of the plant.
